Participants will receive face-to-face training, along with follow-up webinars to support their development as subject leaders. The course will cover curriculum design, what makes great teaching, effective use of assessment and leading a team. The course will be personalised in terms of the subject and experience of the subject leaders.

New to Senior Leadership
This practical short course will prepare new or aspiring senior leaders for the demands and considerations of whole-school leadership. Based on educational research and theory, participants will explore the 'need to knows' when moving from middle to senior leader. This will include developing appropriate professional knowledge and how to gather evidence to understand a school's culture and how to work with other leaders. We'll discuss how to formulate a plan for the first term and first year, and how to design and embed a long-term strategy.

Developing meaningful conversations between subject and senior leaders
These sessions will develop the curriculum and pedagogy-focused work of middle and senior leaders, enabling meaningful conversations between subject and senior leaders. The sessions primarily focus on the curriculum, teaching and outcomes. We will explore the role of different leaders in ensuring high standards in the quality of education and how to develop subject-sensitive leadership. This course is aimed at getting senior and subject leaders working together on practical strategies that will support their work in schools.

Improving Senior Curriculum Leadership
This course is aimed primarily at senior leaders and will help them to engage with up-to-date evidence-based curriculum theory, as well as practical advice on how to evaluate and develop the school curricula. A focus on what is taught and learned, as well as how it is learned, can help to better understand what pupils are achieving and how to support their progress. The aim of the training is to improve the conversations about the curriculum between senior leaders and subject leaders, as well as support all leaders in developing the quality of education.
